What is a “locked” journal entry, and why can’t I edit it?
When you share your journal with your attorney or therapist, he/she is able to view your journal entries and their attachments. Using the tags you assigned to your journal entries, your attorney or therapist can also search through your entries to create groups of entries by location, who was there, or a topic represented by your tags. A group of entries is called a “package”.
Your attorney might create a package of entries to support a brief to be submitted to the court. Your therapist might create a package of entries to show you how you have changed over time.
When your attorney creates a package for the court, he/she might “lock” the package to prevent its contents (the journal entries included in the package and the attachments) from being altered, edited or deleted. Locking a package is necessary to preserve the authenticity of the entries so they can be used as evidence in court.
When a package is locked, a lock icon will appear on the journal entries included in the package. The lock icon indicates that the journal entries cannot be edited or deleted.
.
When the details of a locked journal entry are viewed, a message is displayed in the details panel indicating that the entry is included in a locked package and therefore cannot be edited or deleted. Also, the tags assigned to all journal entries in the package cannot be edited or deleted.
